Bazooka Mobile Audio gives facelift to the Elevated Listening subwoofers
January 1, 2004 – Southern Audio Services Inc. (SAS), manufacturer of the Bazooka® Mobile Audio line of tube subwoofers, speakers, and amplifiers, has once again improved the EL component subwoofers with an impressive new look.
While the stellar performance remains unchanged, the new dustcap gives a cosmetic appeal that matches the outstanding acoustic output these woofers have become known for. Available in 10” and 12” sizes, these woofers combine incredible performance, innovative features, and aggressive pricing in a visually exciting package.
Both the ELW1014 (SRP $89.95) and ELW1214 (SRP $99.95) offer the following features: reinforced poly cone, rubber surround, flat / progressive spider, stepped side vented basket, bumped backplate with rear vented pole piece and nickel plated spring loaded barrel terminals.
In addition to the features mentioned, Bazooka took their design to the extreme with an optional LIQUID COOLING KIT for their new woofers. The threaded pole piece vent allows for the insertion of the Bazooka C.H.I.L. Plug. The C.H.I.L. Plug is a small cooling reservoir that allows for fluid to be pumped into the center of the woofer’s motor structure cooling the entire drive assembly of the woofer. The result of this design, when installed with the Bazooka C.H.I.L. Kit, is an increase in RMS power handling of over 50%!
Available this spring at a local Bazooka retailer, these new EL products set a new standard for affordable performance subwoofers.
Bazooka Mobile Audio, best known for their patented Bass Tubes enclosure design, is headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original Bazooka tube subwoofer in 2004.
