Default Project idea but, will this box work?

I'm planning on fitting 16 yes that's 16 RX-T1 subs into my car and I am toying with the idea of putting each one in thier own sealed box with the dimentions of 11" on all 3 sides (triangular boxes) by 14" deep. The outside edge of the box should be around the same size as the outer edge of the sub itself, which will enable me to group them tightly together in a staggered formation that will make up a giant triangle. If I figured right each box will have a volume of .62 Cubic feet, which is at the top of the recommended volume range of .4-.6 cubes. Although, I was thinking of maybe going with a box that equals .5 cu.ft. which is right in the middle of the range. What does everyone think about this? As I progress throughout the project I will keep tabs posted of how it is going and when I finish I will post pictures of the completed setup in my car. The completed setup will consist of 16 subs, plexiglass surround filled with water and a bubble effect which will be lighted by purple neons.

Good deal!!!! Some one with the ideas. I am currently work on installing 6 rx-t1 in my sunfire. I was talking to the tech at bazooka asking if the box volume was alreay including basket displacement and he said yes. They had installed 16 of these in a CRX and they could still see out the back window he also said they work in a .5 - .8 cbft box no prob. Im putting all of them into a 1 chamber box powering it mono @ 2.6 ohm feeding it 1700 watts RMS. If you run them mono you can use 1 chamber but in stereo or multi amps use 2 or more chambers the amount of channels should be equal to the amount of chambers so if you run two amps that are 2 channel bridged have two chambers. if there running stereo run 4 chambers. Obviously the less chambers you have the less space you take up in dividers. Anyways if you want email me and you can pick each others brains. Here is how I was going to set up 5 but now Im doing 6

Later

Cool, I like that CRX. I'm planning on putting all 16 subs into 16 separate boxes then piecing all 16 boxes together to look like one BIG box. I'm planning on running them using 4, 4 channel amps. Each amp will be 350W X 4 that way each sub will be on it's own channel pulling 350W RMS. After toying with that and seeing how that hits I might bump up and get some different amps....say 4, 400W X 4 or maybe 425W X 4. What amps ya say are good for that...any in mind.Keep in mind that I am doing a black, purple, and blue color scheme in my car so try and keep within those colors. For the initial start of this I plan on using Pyle PLA1085 amps since they are cheap push 350X 4 and they are blue and black in color. http://www.ugonet.com/pylpla1144ch.html

Sorry, Hirev, not in the techlab any more. Just like to cruise the boards when I can't sleep.

Just make sure you get the purple one, hirev...

I hear they are much more powerful than the blue ones, the red ones, and the polka-dotted ones, too!

:-)

Sorry, it was too easy!

I know... it's silly.

The new P.Miller amps are chrome too, and they look HOT!

Even an old audiophile like myself appreciates a pretty package sometimes...
