TA850c
I bought this sub from Circuit City two weeks ago. I'm not very experienced when it comes to subwoofers and the like but... Is it normal for the sub to make a rattling noise on the inside?
I Don't really play it that loud and I have the gain turned to a little less than half and I kept hearing this rattling noise in back of the car. I thought it might be the vehicle itself but I couldn't trace it to that so I removed the sub and sure enough it was rattling in there.
Is this a blown speaker? Or possibly some wires rattling around? What should I do? Should I take it back? Please help.
If I need to return it for another one, do I need the box? I threw it out sooo...
Thank You,
-Mike

Re: TA850c
Mike,
I believe in order to return for an exchange from Circuit City within their 30 day period, you have to have the box and copy of your purchase receipt. You should probably read through your information that they provided to you on returns and warranty service. It is not normal for the tube to be rattling - sounds like something is loose. I think your best bet would be to return to Circuit City and they may be able to check it out for you, or will give you an exchange if you have followed their procedures. If they cannot service the unit for you, you can contact our Customer Service department at (800) 843-8823 and we can issue you a return authorization number to return the unit to us for repair. Please make sure you get the serial number off of the unit before calling in. Because you have only had the unit for 2 weeks, it will be covered under our manufacturers warranty. We may need a copy of your purchase receipt also depending on the date of the serial number. If you have any other questions, just let us know.

Man, I feel stupid. I guess I shouldn't post until I'm wake up or read or both. Thanks for covering CJ.

Re: TA850c
I could have defended the question if I had used the word "the" in place of "a" and added "making the noise". But if a frog had wings, he wouldn't have wore his butt out hopping on the rocks.
