Testing an EL8

I picked up a used EL8, and I'd like to test it before going through the pain of installation.

I can connect the Power wire to the battery (fused, of course), and connect the line outs from the HU to the RCA line ins on the tube.

But would it be alright to connect the black wire *directly* to the "-" terminal on the battery? There's a wire to the frame, so electrically that'd be the same as grounding the tube to the frame, right?

for just testing purposes only you can wire it up directly to the battery terminals...no fuse is needed as you will be right there and the tube will only be wired for a short period of time.

you can wire the remote turn on to the battery positive also...as this is for testing only. ground can go to battery terminal also
