Default Corner Position and Distance

I'm on to my 2nd set of Bazookas. I had a pair of the 8" passives back in about 1988 or so.

For those that are wondering, a pair of 6" BT6024DVC will fit behind the seat of a 2000 Nissan Frontier. It's a VERY tight fit but it works.

QUESTION: The installation manual says that "ideally" the Bazooka should be placed 2" - 4" away from the corner into which it is aimed. What happens to the sound if the Bazooka is less than 2" away from the corner? What happens to the sound when it's more than 4" away from the corner?

I can play with my distance just a bit but I'm limited due to the seat frame and a 2 bolts that hold the seat to the hinges. But, I can fine tune a bit and I'm wondering if it is worth the effort.

Thanks.

The 2" to 4" Tube placement is a suggested starting point. From there, the user can adjust or tune the output of the Tube to his/her liking. The closer the Tube is to the vehicle, the tighter the bass response becomes. The further away from the vehicle, the bass opens up and the response has more "boom." Not in output, but in sound reproduction. That is one great thing about the Tubes, playing around with the placement is quite easy. When you find the sound that is magic to your ears, tighten down the straps and you are good to go.

Thank You Re: Corner Position and Distance

Very cool and thanks for the answer. I assumed that moving the tube would be like tuning a port. It helps to know what each move should result in.

Thanks!
