Lots of good help in here!

I recently bought a bazooka bta850fhc that has the fast9999 and fastbtah harnesses.

At first the was hardly anything coming out - turns out I needed to tap the yellow wire out of my JVC headunit for battery constant. (I had initially used the red off the jvc harness which was actually ignition)

But I still don't have the bass I want. It seems like it's still primarily coming from my jvc speakers.

The cone in the bazooka is moving with the bass but it's definitely not enough.

My deck has sub level control, high pass filter (which if I turn on, all bass in my system vanishes). So maybe I should use the RCA inputs?

I've tapped all the speaker wires, they matched up with the jvc harness. I'm using the blue/white remote on wire from my JVC harness as well.

If my ground wasn't good I would suspect the cone wouldn't move at all.

Ideas?

Update, I didn't trust the ground so I went back and started to sand around the hole and sure enough it was painted. It was grey so I figured it was bare metal.

It's definitely putting out some bass but I don't like the fact that my speakers are too. What I mean is, I have to keep the volume down because the speakers are trying to drive the bass as well. I thought the lows would only go through the tube.

I think I might disconnect the speaker taps, and use the harness only for the remote on and battery constant and try running off the RCA hookups.

The switch is a phase selector. If you where to wire your inputs out of phase then instead of having to cut and re-solder your wires you could just move the switch in the opposite direction. and they get switched inside the amp. The knob is the gain control you use that to adjust the tube to match your radio volume.

Got it all figured out, adjusted the gain on the bazooka (it was all the way down) and the bass levels on the deck.

Used the RCA hookups and it sounds really really nice for something I grabbed for 100 bucks on sale at Canadian Tire.

This looks like the right place for this question. 2004 silverado, stock radio, using the fast system wiring with a BTA8100. Using the information here, I find that the only thing missing is the blue/white turn on signal. the thing is, there is no wire in the corresponding hole to it in the factory harness.

the radio interface harness part number is fast-2003 with a fast-btah connecting between that and the sub.

do I need a different interface harness?

There is no switched voltage circuit on the 2004 Silverado radio. You can use the FAST-2003 (or the FAST-9999), however, in either case you will need to run a wire from the blue/white wire of either FAST Harness to the factory fuse box.

I figured you were gonna say that. I was going to put power to the wire but didn't want to put power back to the radio on that line and didn't want to screw with either of the harnesses in case there was a different one available.

I bought a BTA850FH. The FAST cable that came with it doesn't include a jumper for auto power on/off. Does the amp in the BTA850FH still provide auto off/on if I short the correct pins in the connector?

Yes, you would have to jump the top and bottom pins all the way to the left, as you are looking at the back of the amp.

Hi Guys i just got myself a bazooka amplified tube sub.Here is what i got Bazooka BTA850FH 8" 50W Bass Enclosure
F.A.S.T.-9999 universal connection harness
F.A.S.T.-BTAH extension cable. I have been going through this post and other to install this on my stock stereo on my 2009 honda civic sedan . From what i figured reading through here . i will need not a sperate power cable to run to the battery , as in drilling the firewall. is that correct ? and where is the best spot to connect the FAST 9999 to my internal wiring ? like right after they pass the stock stereo or anything way down. Sorry if this is too much stupid stuff i ask , still a noob with this stuff.
