Question How to wire Scion xB woofer to HU sub output?

The Bazooka VSE-SCI-145L-07 powered subwoofer detects signal by T-connecting to the front left and right speaker '+' and '-' wires, and gets battery power from the same point.

T-pin1 -- RF+ Gray
T-pin2 -- LF+ White
T-pin4 -- Battery Red
T-pin5 -- RF- Gray/Black
T-pin6 -- LF- White/Black

I want to convert it to using my HU line subwoofer output and it seems like there're two possibilities.

1) Connect either the LF or RF signal wire pair to the line output and short the other pair to each other.
2) Parallel connect both LF and RF wire pairs to the line output.

Along with this, I also want to run a heavier gauge power wire back to the subwoofer -- I think the original is 16 AWG whereas I'd prefer 12 or maybe even 10 AWG.

Anyone know what the best solution is?

Yes, the best solution is to purchase the replacement harness ELA-HP-AWK. The possibilities you have listed will not work.

As for the power wire, the amplifier has a maximum amperage draw of 7.5 amps. You can increase the power wire as big as you would like, however, there will be no real benefit of doing so.

Thanks ! Just wondering, would paralleling the two speaker level input pairs on the SW line output not work because of likely inadequate SW volume, inadequate sub-amp input impedance seen by the line output, risk of damage to the sub-amp with its two speaker level inputs directly connected, or something else?

Between the power wire and the shorter ground wire the total length is roughly 20ft. I'm not certain if the gauge is 16 AWG or 18, but at 7.5A there would be a 1V drop with 18, and .6V with 16. Not that I'm criticizing the subwoofer, I'm just thinking bass accuracy might be further enhanced with a stiffer power and perhaps especially a stiffer ground connection.

How long is that ELA-HP-AWK harness? From the picture on the parts page it doesn't appear to be the same length as the one that originally comes with the subwoofer, and it needs to measure a good 11+ ft with the slack...

The harness that comes with the Scion enclosure is the TMS8A-HP-AWK. If you are looking for a harness for an aftermarket head unit that is long enough to reach the radio. You need the FAST-BTAH & FAST-9999
