Mpa1000 use as a PA

Hey Everyone,
I've been looking for PA system to use on a open trailer we use for tours of a farm and been having lots of problems finding one that would be able to fare well in the elements.. We've been using Radioshack PA amplifiers but they have been dieing on us left and right..

My question is could we use an MPA1000 and a marine amplifier without using a head unit.. We dont need the music aspect just the PA feature.. Thanks in advance!

Don't know how it would turn on without a source.

You can try and ground it and connect it to a battery. It still needs a turn on lead. Perhaps you can tie into the turn on lead for the ignition. Not certain but a suggestion.
