The switch is the Input Phase Switch and the knob adjusts the gain level of the Tube. The Input Phase Switch corrects any phase issues. Phase issues will always cause lack of bass output. Flipping this switch will rectify this situation if there is one present. The knob on the Tube is used to adjust the output of the Tube.

Help 0003 Re: FAST-9999 Installaton Instructions

Hey, sorry i am totally NOOB at using this even though i have the Bazooka 850FH.

I have a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD

http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf...130AVHP410.PDF

I read your post earlier in the thread,

the Red Wire -> should connect to +12v Constant ---> which for my pioneer reciever harness = Yellow

the Blue/White -> should connect to the +12v switched (key-on/key-off) or the amplifier remote ---> which is RED / or Blue White on my Pioneer Reciever

according to the PDF supplied by Pioneer 4100DVD Manual

Yellow
Connect to the constant 12 V supply terminal.

Red
Connect to terminal controlled by ignition switch (12 V DC)

Blue/white
Connect to system control terminal of the power amp or
auto-antenna relay control terminal

Im lost with the FAST Blue/White wire..is it supposed to connect to my harness's BLUE/WHITE or RED

please take a look at the instruction manual for my aftermarket reciever, and thanks for the help, i really love the bazooka bass tube and might upgrade to a bigger one eventually

Welcome to the Bazooka Forum. You can connect the Blue/White wire to the Blue/White wire of your headunit (which is also a switched +12v source).

Keep in mind, when you do upgrade the BTAXX100 will plug right in to the existing FAST System.

Thank You Re: FAST-9999 Installaton Instructions

.. quick update..

Followed HeavyDuty's instructions, and pulled it off in less than 15 minutes..

the only rough part was matching the color coded wires with my Pioneer AvhP4100 harness, which was easy.. only the power wire's color was different.

Put all the wires together, used the same ground location that my Alpine amp was using, fired it up and Voila.. instant bass!

I spent an hour after work to properly route the wires underneath the carpet, through the sides, then up the center console where the reciever is as shown in the PDF diagram. In all, very happy with the product, and im thinking of getting the bigger 10" driver, 10100 version and giving this one to my wife. Need to beat the sub in first

Thanks for the help, cant believe even i pulled it off by myself *during lunch*, saving the labor of going to an audio shop!

I have the tube installed now. It doesnt really seem to be putting out the bass i thought it would. After reading over the phase section of the manual it seems to be in phase. Any suggestion on what the problem may be?

Did you follow the steps in the manual to make sure that the Tube is indeed in phase? Did you also try flipping the phase input switch? Where and how in the vehicle is the Tube mounted and positioned?

I got it working now, it just took some tweaking of the settings on my head unit.

Help 0003 Re: FAST-9999 Installaton Instructions

Hi, I just purchased the BTA850FH, my receiver has RCA jacks for Sub output.
1. Is it recommended I use the RCA jacks instead of using the FAST harnesses speaker connections?

2. Also, if I were to use the RCAs, the FAST harness RCAs are both the same color, but the connections are Red/White on the receiver, I assume it does not matter how they are inserted.

3. Is there a danger in connecting both the speaker and RCAs up together?

4. What is your opinion on using the RCAs vs the speaker connections.
Thanks
