Default HELP: Installing a BTA850FH in a 2005 WRX

Hello, I need a little help. I am trying to install a BTA850FH in my WRX with a Pioneer FH-X700BT head unit. I connected all the wires exactly as the instructions said but nothing works. I am a little confused on the power wire, I assumed the red wire in the harness would go the the red wire from the head unit as the one page instructions said but when I read the owners manual, page 12 describes the remote turn on wire which they say is orange. Is this the same as the red wire from above? I switched them and followed the remote turn on instructions and still nothing happened. I followed the one page instructions and connected the other 5 wires to the harness and nothing still. The head unit has rca out put jacks, Can those be used? I did plug the 2 in but nothing happened. I know I am missing something and I am sure its very simple so a little help in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You can use the rca plugs. You will need to disconnect all the other wires except the Red (12 vdc) and the blue and white (switched 12 vdc). Also check to make sure you have a good clean metal to metal ground.
