Which Passive tube to add?

I installed a Bazooka BTA8250D in my Mercedes sedan and I'm wondering if I should add a passive tube for a little more thump. If I do add a passive tube, do I need to match the tube size on the powered unit (8") or can I get a 10/12 inch passive tube for a little more extension?

The BT8014 is the appropriate Tube for adding a slave unit to the BTA8250D.

So adding a 10" tube would not work? Or would it throw off the response? Or do I just not gain anything?
