Update, I didn't trust the ground so I went back and started to sand around the hole and sure enough it was painted. It was grey so I figured it was bare metal.

It's definitely putting out some bass but I don't like the fact that my speakers are too. What I mean is, I have to keep the volume down because the speakers are trying to drive the bass as well. I thought the lows would only go through the tube.

I think I might disconnect the speaker taps, and use the harness only for the remote on and battery constant and try running off the RCA hookups.
