the switch should be set on full which stands for full range as far as cutting out that doesn't sound right and maybe a problem with the power or ground terminal try this if your fairing is off...

Dave, It sounds like the auto turn on feature is staying on are you using our fast harness or did you hardwire this in ?If you hardwired it in you need to find a wire that turns off with the ignition...

yes it can be the only radio's our unit DID NOT work with was the biult in CB relocate you cb under the radio and it should work just fine for you .

yes the reason to move the cb is to allow room for the amp and the reason for mounting in a remote location is our fast harness would be to short in lenth .

Geezrglider, yes the tubes are amplified with a 100watt amp and the max current draw is 7.5 amps sp no problem with your bike we've been running bikes with our 4 and 2 channel amp plus a amplified...

Here are the 2 models we offer BTA8100 and BTA6100 the 8" model takes up more trunk space but gives you more bass but like I said easy in and easy out for touring

Hello Geezrglidr, You are correct about hearing a sub at 70 MPH and being you add it in the trunk it's already behind you but I think it is a killer buy and upgrade for your bike or any bike lets...

Montoya, yes there is a kit to install a BTA6100 or a BTA8100 you need to drill a 3" hole in the lock cover and we have a grill that covers it back up and in the kit you get everything you need...

all you have to do is pick up the signal from the rear speakers on your bike and run a auto turn on and run your power and ground and done it is I'll find out the wire colors for your rear speakers...

I installed a BTA6100 and a BTA8100 on a goldwing I also molded 2 6" subs on a FLHX that give the bike a killer sound as well what king of bike are we talking about ?...
