If the factory hole is 5.25" just get the 5 1/4 comps. The difference in midbass will be hardly noticable, if noticable at all.

If the funds are there the 500.1 is the way to go. The 300.1 will still work and push the JL's fine no matter what impedence they are, but the 500.1 is a better amp.

The EL1500 had some overheating issues if there wasn't atleast 4awg power and ground used and sufficient space for the amp to dissipate heat. Alot of this has been resolved with the EL500.1 amp.

You would have to fill in 0.4 cubic feet in each box to acquire a 0.6 cubic foot volume. But take into consideration the displacement from the subwoofer which I would guess is about 0.2 cubic feet....
