Tried different spots to ground in the trunk of the car and still the same results, also rechecked the connections to the factory radio and they all seem to check out.

I grounded it behind the rear seats using a large self-tapping screw in a spot where i sanded it down to bear metal. I assumed it was a good spot because the steel was pretty solid in this spot and...

By the way I don't know if this helps but I have a '05 Mazda 3 and I've tried plugging the red wire of the FAST system to the constant 12v of the head unit and the blue/white wire into the 12v...
