Why does el8A seem to sound better than BTA8100

My faithful el8A died and I replaced it with a new BTA8100. Yet it seems the new tube does not create near as much bass "feel".. yes I know Feel is not the same as true bass...but in a truck feel....well to coin a cheesy phrase feels good. So please comment if you've ever had a el8a and seemed that the newer tubes do not BOOM as much. And as an aside the el8a sell used now for way more than they did new so others must feel the same as I do......Comments please...Thanx

While I cannot comment as to why you perceive a difference between the BTA and the ELA, I can comment on the fact that you can have the amplifier in the ELA replaced or repaired. Give Customer Service a call at 1-800-THE-TUBE if you are interested.
