MC-HD-AK4 crossover question
 

So...Everything works fine, but it sounds somewhat muddy and starts to distort before I expected...Pretty loud, but not demonstrably louder/cleaner than stock. I was wondering if the crossover switch should be on "FULL" or "HP"? (BTW, what does "HP" stand for? I know I'll end up with a "Duh..." when you give me the answer!)...Is it possible that with it set to "FULL" there's too much bass info going to the speakers and causing this issue? Whaddya think?

Forgot to mention...The system that was installed was your amp + you 4 speakers...Thanks!

The HP stands for high pass, and you are exactly correct as to why your speakers start to distort and sound muddy, you are asking them to reproduce frequencies they are not capable of reproducing. Switch the crossover to HP and you will notice a remarkable improvement in sound reproduction. :)47
