MC-HD-AMK install problems
 

I just installed the amp and harness in my 2008 flhx. I put J&M speakers in first I got from my wife as an x-mas present. They worked fine with the factory harness, now they seem they are distorted with no power with the amp and new harness hooked up. I have all plugs hooked up except for the 35 pin male plug from the new harness.....I re-checked my ground to the neck of the bike? Could it still be the ground, if there is too much paint?

Welcome to the Bazooka Forum. Be sure that you do take the time to properly prepare and secure the ground. How do you have the gain setting adjusted on the amplifier?

Hello Heavyduty, thanks for the response.....I did sand an area under the harness clamp at the frame neck. After sanding and tightening rhe bolt back up, it didnt help. I ran a dedicated ground right from the battery terminal with some wire and alligator clips to the amp ground wire terminal lug after that, still no go. I have the "Gain" setting just pass 1/2 (about 1'oclock) .

OK!!!! now I feel really dumb. Looking at the "Gain" it appeared to be at 1'oclock, well it was actually all the way down, I turned it just past half and now I'm rockin....
