Hello fellow Bazooka Tubers!! HELP!!!

Hello all,
New to the site and just got a new MBT8100 for my boat. I wam wondering if anyone has installed one in their boat, and if so, where did you run the ground wire to? The installation instructions say not to extend the ground, but I'm installing in the front storage compartment and the battery is 20 feet away. Is there anything else to attach to? It's a fiberglass boat, so no metal frame or chasis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info HeavyDuty. I guess my main concern is the ground loop issue and noise from being run in parallel with the power from the head unit. But, I have been told by other boaters that they have run the ground all the way to the battery themselves.
I guess I'll try it and see what happens.
