Need dimensions for RSW 1024 box.
I just picked up am RSW 1024 DVC on Ebay.
I'd like to build a box for it either sealed or ported, not sure yet. Does anyone have the cubic inches required for both a sealed and ported box ? If I use a ported setup, what size and lenght port do I use ? I listen to a mixture of rock/rap. Any first hand input as to which enclosure I should use for this particular sub ? |

They say .56 cuft for sealed, but I think it would sound better in a larger enclosure, say 1 cuft. The ported is 1.4 cu ft. Your choice. |
I just installed the same sub and I used a box that was 10"x10"x6" internal dimensions. It worked amazingly. The sound or thump is loud and tight. Oh and this a sealed enclosure. I also used .5" MDF. Try this and you will be super happy.

A little late but I thought I'd give an update.
I built a ported box for the 1024 DVC and does that thing kick *** !! Amazing bass for a 10" sub. I built a sealed box for a 1204 and it does not even come close to the output of the 10". (Ya, I know I cant compare ported and sealed, not to mention Im running the 10" at 2 ohms.) |
Ported will almost always be louder than sealed. Sealed will almost always have better sound. And they are easier to build. There are exceptions, so I'm not trying to start an argument.
