No amp, no crossover, no idea... [?]
I own a 2002 Civic Coupe with a stock CD stereo. I recently purchased an EL10A-HP and wanted to get some help before I tried installing. I know that all of my output connections for my stereo are taken. And I guess my question lies with a statement I saw in the "4 speaker problem..." topic. Should I just take the high level inputs going to the back speakers and split that to both the bazooka and the back speakers? I know that this is probably a piece of cake... I'm just new to this whole thing. Thanks! |
The ideal hookup would require you to get a new deck. But with whatyou have now I would do as you said, use the high level inputs, thats what they are there for. <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just so that you are aware, those pre outs will make the sub act like a giant speaker. a new deck is needed in order to make this sound the best. you need a cd player with 3 pre outs. that would be your best bet.

Okay. I'll look into that. thank you!
Any suggestions on how to maximize bass output with the current configuration? Any other “little” things I can get to help out? thanks. |
There isnt any real way to just boost the base without sub control. If your amp has some sort of db bass boost try that out. But do not touch any of the bass boost options on the cd player. like the bass boost or xbass. only use the equalizers to adjust the bass. this is where you adjust the bass and treble. Anything else is speaker killer. New deck is needed for better sound.
